Description
Tender, fluffy buns filled with a savory ground beef mixture, perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, and sugar. Gradually add the warm water and vegetable oil, then knead until the dough is smooth and elastic. Cover with a clean cloth and let rise for about 60 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Meanwhile, in a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat and stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into small balls (about the size of a golf ball). Flatten each ball into a circle.
- Place a spoonful of the savory beef filling in the center of each circle. Fold the edges to seal and pinch them to form a bun.
- Place the buns in a steamer lined with parchment paper. Steam for 15-20 minutes, or until fluffy and puffed up.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
You can prepare the buns ahead of time and freeze them. For a spicy kick, add some chopped chili to the filling!
