Description

Crisp on the edges, chewy in the center, and bursting with melty chocolate chips, these cookies evoke comforting childhood memories.


Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup (167g) salted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (123g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (115g) granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (304g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (200g) favorite chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350° F.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. Gradually add in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Fold in your favorite chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop out the dough into 1 1/2 tablespoon portions onto a cookie sheet.
  7. Bake at 350° F for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown on the edges.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a nutty delight, add walnuts or pecans. For a fresh twist, try adding orange or lemon zest.
