Description

Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, these Broccoli Cheese Balls are a crowd-pleaser perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked broccoli, chopped into small pieces
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Broccoli: Steam or boil the broccoli until tender, then chop it into small pieces. Allow it to cool slightly.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  3. Form the Cheese Balls: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Form small balls from the mixture and arrange them on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake the Cheese Balls: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve hot, optionally with a dipping sauce.

Notes

You can prepare the broccoli cheese balls ahead of time and store them in the fridge for up to 2 days. Freeze uncooked balls and bake directly from frozen.
