Description
These delightful chewy brown sugar cookies are warm, comforting, and perfect for sharing with loved ones.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown, stirring frequently. Let it cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, mix the brown sugar and granulated sugar with the browned butter until well combined.
- Crack in the egg and pour in the vanilla extract. Mix until everything is harmoniously combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
- If using, fold in the creamy chocolate chips for that extra indulgence.
- Drop generous spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, making sure to space them out.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look set.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For the best flavor, be attentive while browning the butter and mix until just combined to keep the cookies tender.
