Description

A quick and flavorful Korean ground beef recipe that’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 4 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until it’s no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet, letting them sizzle for 30 seconds.
  3. Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Allow the mixture to simmer for a minute or two.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed by adding more soy sauce or sugar.
  5. Serve this delightful Korean beef over steamed rice, in lettuce wraps, or as part of a hearty grain bowl. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Make ahead for busy nights and store in the fridge for up to 3 days. Leftovers can be frozen for later enjoyment.
