- 1 cup long grain white rice (uncooked)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup (condensed)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) beef broth (or water with beef bouillon)
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, sliced into pats
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional garnish: chopped parsley or shredded cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease your baking dish.
- In the baking dish, combine the rice, French onion soup, beef broth, and chopped onions (if using). Stir well.
- Place the butter slices evenly across the top of the rice mixture.
- Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake uncovered for another 20–25 minutes, until the liquid is absorbed and the top is golden.
- Let it sit for a few minutes, fluff gently with a fork, and garnish as desired before serving.

You can assemble this dish ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking.
