- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Flaky sea salt for sprinkling, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
- Add the vanilla extract and mix until incorporated.
- Gradually add the sifted flour and salt to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Using a small cookie scoop or two spoons, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle flaky sea salt over each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before transferring the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Make-ahead by refrigerating dough for up to 3 days. Can substitute coconut oil for a dairy-free version.
