Description

A warm, buttery dish featuring sautéed green beans and mushrooms, infused with garlic and lemon for a delightful side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Trim the ends off the green beans and rinse them thoroughly under cold water. Set aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Allow the butter to melt and sizzle slightly.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  4. Toss in the sliced mushrooms and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add the green beans, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and stir to combine.
  6. Cover the skillet and let the green beans cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Remove the lid and add the remaining tablespoon of butter. Stir until it melts and coats the vegetables.
  8. Add the lemon juice and stir well to combine.
  9. Transfer the green beans and mushrooms to a serving dish and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Make-Ahead: Prepare the green beans and mushrooms a day in advance. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
