Description

A quick and easy chocolate sorbet that’s rich, velvety, and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or dark for a richer taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the water and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely, about 3–5 minutes.
  2. Add the cocoa powder and whisk continuously until fully incorporated.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips until melted.
  4. Add the pinch of salt and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
  5. Cool the mixture to room temperature, then cover and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  6. Pour the cooled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions, about 20 minutes.
  7. Spoon the sorbet into an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For variations, try adding peppermint extract, cayenne pepper, fresh berries, or crushed nuts.
