Description

Warm and chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that fill your home with an irresistible aroma of vanilla and chocolate.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing until fully combined.
  4. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamy mixture, scraping down the sides as needed.
  6. Fold in the rolled oats and semi-sweet chocolate chips until well-distributed.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the center remains soft.
  9. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them. They’ll continue cooking on the baking sheet while cooling.
