Description

Deliciously soft and chewy sugar cookies, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Stir together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and white sugar in a large bowl until smooth and creamy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  6. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and roll them in the extra sugar.
  7. Place the dough balls onto ungreased cookie sheets, giving them space.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until golden and slightly firm around the edges.
  9. Let them cool on wire racks before indulging.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes for better texture; store cookies in an airtight container.
