Description

A comforting dish of tender cabbage, crispy turkey bacon, and sweet sautéed onions that evokes warmth and nostalgia.


Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage, chopped
  • 4 slices of turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy.
  2. Remove the crispy turkey bacon and drain on paper towels, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.
  3. Add the sliced onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent.
  4. Toss in the chopped cabbage, stirring well to combine with the crispy bacon and sweet onions.
  5. Cover the skillet and cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cabbage becomes beautifully tender.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with the crispy turkey bacon.

Notes

Make ahead and store in the refrigerator for up to three days. Leftovers can be reheated in a skillet or microwave.
