Description

Delightful Strawberry Crumb Bars with a buttery topping and sweet strawberry filling, perfect for summer snacking.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the flour and salt, mixing until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the crumbly mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  5. Combine the sliced strawberries, brown sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and cinnamon in another bowl.
  6. Pour the strawberry mixture over the crust, spreading it evenly.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough over the strawberry filling.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You can freeze these bars for up to three months!
