Ingredients

- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3–4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine the brown sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring continuously until the sugar has melted. Allow it to cool slightly.
- Cream the softened butter in a mixing bowl until smooth and fluffy.
- Add in the powdered sugar gradually, mixing until creamy.
- Pour the cooled brown sugar syrup and add the vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and fluffy.
- Use the frosting immediately to top cakes, cupcakes, or create cookie sandwiches.
Notes
Store leftover frosting in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Re-whip before use.
