- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup reduced-fat cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup shredded reduced-fat mozzarella cheese
- 4 whole-grain hamburger rolls
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and fragrant.
- Stir in the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning, cooking for another minute until the garlic is fragrant.
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the softened cream cheese until melted and well combined.
- Mix in the shredded mozzarella cheese, letting it melt into the luscious filling. Stir everything together until creamy and deliciously combined.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Serve the meat mixture on whole-grain rolls, garnished with fresh parsley.
