Description

A warm, comforting dish featuring crispy fried chicken coated in a sweet-savory sesame glaze, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix together the cornstarch, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. In another bowl, whisk the egg and water together. Dip the chicken pieces in the egg mixture, then coat them in the flour mixture.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken pieces until they are golden and crispy, about 5–6 minutes, turning halfway through for even cooking.
  3. Heat the sesame oil, soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar in a separate saucepan over low heat to create a fragrant sesame sauce.
  4. Toss the fried chicken in the sauce until it’s evenly coated.
  5. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
