Description
Indulge in the comforting flavors of Croissant Smash Burgers, featuring flaky croissants filled with juicy beef patties and melty cheese. Perfect for a cozy family dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large buttery croissants
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- Lettuce and tomato, for topping
- Mustard and ketchup, to taste
- Salt and pepper, for seasoning
Instructions
- Start by preheating your skillet over medium-high heat. While it warms up, chop your onion and slice the tomato.
- Divide the ground beef into two even portions and shape each into a ball.
- Toss the chopped onion into the heated skillet and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, smash the beef balls down to create thick patties. Season with salt and pepper and cook undisturbed for about 3–4 minutes.
- Flip the patties, add sautéed onions and shredded cheese on top, cover, and let melt for another 2–3 minutes.
- Slice the croissants in half and lightly toast them until golden.
- Assemble the burgers with a patty on each toasted croissant bottom, topped with lettuce, tomato, mustard, and ketchup.
- Plate and enjoy with sweet potato fries, if desired.
Notes
Make the patties ahead and store in the fridge up to a day. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
