Description

Indulge in the comforting flavors of Croissant Smash Burgers, featuring flaky croissants filled with juicy beef patties and melty cheese. Perfect for a cozy family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 large buttery croissants
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • Lettuce and tomato, for topping
  • Mustard and ketchup, to taste
  • Salt and pepper, for seasoning

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your skillet over medium-high heat. While it warms up, chop your onion and slice the tomato.
  2. Divide the ground beef into two even portions and shape each into a ball.
  3. Toss the chopped onion into the heated skillet and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, smash the beef balls down to create thick patties. Season with salt and pepper and cook undisturbed for about 3–4 minutes.
  5. Flip the patties, add sautéed onions and shredded cheese on top, cover, and let melt for another 2–3 minutes.
  6. Slice the croissants in half and lightly toast them until golden.
  7. Assemble the burgers with a patty on each toasted croissant bottom, topped with lettuce, tomato, mustard, and ketchup.
  8. Plate and enjoy with sweet potato fries, if desired.

Notes

Make the patties ahead and store in the fridge up to a day. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
