Description

Delicious waffles filled with creamy caramel syrup, perfect for cozy mornings and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 75g unsalted butter, softened
  • 75g brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 150g caramel syrup or dulce de leche

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, active dry yeast, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Add the softened butter and the egg to the mixture. Knead until it forms a smooth dough.
  3. Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for 30 minutes in a warm spot.
  4. Preheat your waffle maker so it’s ready when the dough is.
  5. Once the dough has risen, divide it into small balls and flatten them slightly.
  6. Carefully place the dough balls in the preheated waffle maker and cook until golden brown.
  7. While the waffles are still warm, slice them in half and fill with caramel syrup or dulce de leche.
  8. Press the waffles gently to seal and serve with tea or coffee.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing the dough the night before and letting it rise overnight in the fridge. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
