Description

A comforting classic featuring tender ribeye, caramelized onions, and gooey provolone cheese, perfect for cozy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ribeye steak
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 hoagie rolls

Instructions

  1. Slice the ribeye: Using a sharp knife, slice the ribeye steak thinly against the grain.
  2. Cook the steak: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the sliced ribeye. Cook until tender and browned, about 3–4 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Caramelize the onions: In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the onions along with minced garlic. Sauté until the onions are golden brown, about 8–10 minutes.
  4. Assemble the sandwich: Return the cooked steak to the skillet, mixing it with the caramelized onions. Place this mixture on the hoagie rolls, topping it with slices of provolone cheese.
  5. Melt the cheese: Place the assembled sandwiches under a broiler for a minute or two or cover the skillet until the cheese melts.
  6. Serve hot: Enjoy your cozy sandwiches while they’re warm and melty!

Notes

For added flavor, consider customizing with spicy jalapeños or sweet bell peppers.
