- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
Instructions
- Prepare the jalapeños by removing the stems and slicing them into 1/4-inch rounds.
- In a large saucepan, combine the apple cider vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, turmeric, and celery seed.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar completely.
- Reduce the heat and let the syrup simmer for five minutes before adding in the jalapeño slices.
- Bring the mixture back to a boil, then reduce the heat to simmer for four more minutes.
- Using a slotted spoon, transfer the jalapeños into clean glass canning jars, making sure they’re packed in nicely.
- Continue boiling the remaining syrup for an additional six minutes, then pour it over the jalapeños in the jars, ensuring they are fully covered in sweet goodness.
- Seal the jars and refrigerate the cowboy candy for at least 1-2 weeks before you dive in.
Notes
This cowboy candy improves in flavor after a week in the refrigerator. It’ll last up to six months sealed in airtight jars.
