A hearty family favorite featuring tender cabbage leaves filled with a savory mixture and bathed in a rich tomato sauce.

- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 can (10.5 oz) tomato soup
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and blanch the leaves until tender.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Take a cabbage leaf and place a spoonful of the meat mixture at the base. Roll the leaf tightly around the filling, tucking in the sides.
- Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.
- In a saucepan, mix together tomato soup, tomato sauce, brown sugar, and lemon juice. Stir until well combined.
- Place cabbage rolls seam side down in a baking dish and pour the tomato sauce mixture over them.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 60 minutes.
- Serve hot, and enjoy the comforting embrace of this warm dish!
