Description

A nostalgic dessert featuring layers of salty pretzel crust, creamy cheese, and fresh strawberries in gelatin.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups pretzel sticks
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Crush the pretzel sticks into coarse pieces and combine them with melted butter and sugar in a bowl. Press this mixture firmly into a 9×13 inch baking dish and bake for about 10 minutes. Allow it to cool completely.
  3. Beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping until fully combined. Spread this creamy mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
  4. Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water, stirring until fully mixed. Add the sliced strawberries into the gelatin and pour this layer over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Place the entire dish in the refrigerator for at least 180 minutes, allowing it to set before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, prepare a day ahead of time. For variety, feel free to substitute strawberries with your favorite berries or fruits.
