Description

Crispy, golden potato bites inspired by Taco Bell, perfect for snacks or casual gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oil (canola or vegetable)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Peel your golden potatoes and cut them into small bite-sized pieces.
  2. Boil and Cool: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and gently add your potato pieces. Boil until fork-tender but not falling apart, about 10 minutes. Drain and let them cool for a bit.
  3. Coat the Potatoes: In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, paprika, salt, cayenne pepper, and black pepper. Toss those cooled potatoes gently in the mixture until they’re well coated.
  4. Heat the Oil: In a large frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until shimmering but not smoking.
  5. Fry to Perfection: Carefully add the coated potatoes in batches, frying them until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes per batch.
  6. Drain & Season: Remove the potato bites and let them drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with a little extra salt while they are still hot.
  7. Serve & Enjoy: Get your favorite dips ready and serve these delightful little bites while they’re still warm.

Notes

Leftover potato bites can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat them in the oven for extra crunch.
