Description

A tender, smoky beef brisket steeped in Texas tradition, perfect for family gatherings and special celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole beef brisket
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Wood chips (hickory or oak)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker or grill to a low temperature (around 225°F).
  2. Trim excess fat from the brisket, leaving a thin layer to help with moisture.
  3. Rub the brisket with a mixture of salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  4. Place the brisket in the smoker or grill, fat side up, to keep it juicy as it cooks.
  5. Add wood chips to create smoke, enhancing that authentic smoked flavor.
  6. Cook the brisket low-and-slow for 10-12 hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of about 195°F.
  7. Rest the brisket for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving, allowing the juices to redistribute.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding cayenne pepper or brown sugar to the rub, using your favorite BBQ sauce during the last hour, or infusing dried herbs into the rub.
