Description

Delicious and comforting Sourdough Garlic Bread infused with roasted garlic and aromatic seasonings, perfect as a side dish or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 14 oz Sourdough Loaf
  • 10 tbsp Butter (unsalted)
  • 12 cloves Garlic (peeled)
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp Parsley (roughly chopped, plus more for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1/4 tsp Sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350℉.
  2. Slice the sourdough loaf into 1-inch slices, making sure not to cut all the way through the bottom.
  3. Place the loaf onto a parchment or foil-lined sheet pan.
  4. In a small ramekin, add the garlic cloves and red pepper flakes, then cover with olive oil.
  5. Place it in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the garlic is fork-tender.
  6. Remove the garlic from the oil and use a fork to smash the garlic cloves until creamy.
  7. Combine the softened butter, cooked garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, parsley, and Parmesan cheese in a small bowl.
  8. Spread the garlic butter mixture into all the slits in the bread.
  9. Wrap the bread in foil and bake it for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to achieve a golden, crispy top.

Notes

Prepare the garlic butter ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for a few days. Wrap leftovers tightly in foil and store in the fridge for up to three days.
